Final Draft, the popular scriptingwriting software for Mac OS X and Windows, has been updated to version 7.1.3. A free update for registered 7.x users, Final Draft costs $229.

Final Draft is a specialized word processor that features professional script formatting capabilities. Features include “SmartType” that remembers and automatically fills in character names, scene headings, transitions, locations and more; the ability to track multiple revisions; pagination; support for script notes; more than 50 templates for television, movies and stageplays, and more.

The new version of Final Draft now correctly interacts with FileVault, a file protection feature built in to Mac OS X v10.4 “Tiger.” FileVault encrypts content on your Mac. Also new in this release is improved stability when using Collabowriter, Final Draft’s online collaboration feature; improved pagination; and new keyboard shortcuts. A complete list of changes is available online.
