CalDigit has introduced its FireWireVR RAID product, which allows for connectivity of FireWire 400, 800 and USB 2.0 without the need of additional cards, the company said. FireWireVR allows for RAID settings of 0, 1, and JBOD asnd uses SATA 3Gb/s drives with 16MB cache per drive. CalDigit said the product can handle 2 streams of 10 bit uncompressed SD, and 3 streams of 8 bit uncompressed SD. The drives are available in three capacities and cost 500GB ($499), 1TB ($999) and 1.5TB ($1299).
