MaxUpgrades on Monday introduced its MaxConnect storage expansion system for the Mac Pro. Using the $129 MaxConnect kit, you can install up to eight hard disk drives in total inside of a Mac Pro — four more than Apple provides.

The MaxConnect kit includes mounting hardware, power and data cabling to enable you to use the two optical drive bay of the Mac Pro. You connect the drives to the two extra Serial ATA (SATA) data channels available on the logic board.

The MaxConnect for Mac Pro is expected to begin shipping on December 1, 2006.
