iRex iLiad E-Book Set to Launch:

Back in December I was gleefully awaiting the debut of iRex Technologies' iLiad reader, an e Ink-based electronic reader that is in some ways superior to the Sony Reader I declared my geek love for just a week later.

We haven't heard a peep out of the Sony Reader (originally slated for April, it's been pushed back to late summer), but iRex has announced that they'll be shipping the iLiad at the end of this month. Two bits of bad news, though -- the website lists the currency only in euros, and a lot of them at that: the listed price tag is 649 euros (about $820 US).

Derik's Thoughts: e-Books may finally hit primetime with devices like this. I know I'm excited. As long as this keeps the price of books down, I may start reading more.
