Perhaps I'm reading too much into it, but the timing is awfully convenient . Right around the time Bill Gates announces that in 2008 he will be stepping down from his role at Microsoft, Redmond also shows off Microsoft Robotics Studio, a new initiative to make robotics programming easier. Coincidence?
Still, does anybody think that Microsoft doing robotic programming is a good idea? I mean, have you seen I, Robot ? The first time these suckers hit a general protection fault or get a virus-laden email for "Cheap 0EM s0ftware," there will be blood in the streets, mark my words. Only Bill Gates, in his vast underground bunker, will remain safe while the robocalypse rages overhead.
