Visual effects toolmaker Imagineer Systems followed up its mokey, monet, moxel, and mofex products with the debut of motor at this week’s NAB show for video pros. The dedicated software for rotoscoping (an animation technique) includes sophisticated spline tools. The software’s planar tracker has an advanced tracking algorithm. It works for shifting position, rotate, scale, shear, and perspective.

The company says motor speeds up the task of rotoscoping three to four times over traditional tools. You can also export tracking data directly to Apple’s Shake, Adobe After Effects, Avid DS, and others. Motor runs on OS X, Windows, or Linux. Prices start at £795.
