Toon Boom Studio 4 features redesigned interface

Toom Boom Animation on Monday announced plans to release Toon Boom Studio 4, a new version of their “all-in-one” animation software for Mac OS X and Windows. The software is expected to ship in August for a special pre-launch price of $299.99 (upgrades are available).

Toon Boom Studio 4 was created for the ground up for animators, featuring tools for digital artists and artists who prefer to work by hand then scan in their animation. It features lip synching functions, 2D to 3D space conversions and publishing capabilities for TV, HDTV, the Web and iPod.

New to the version 4 release is a redesigned user interface and more customization for the workspace. It also features new import, vectorizing and animation tools for photographs, an increased selection of brushes with new line styles, a new Feather Edges feature that lets you add blurs and glows to drawings, more motion capabilities and more advanced Web publishing features.

the software also supports Adobe Illustrator layers, adds a Vectorize Preview window, improves drawing tools and supports alpha onion skinning.

System requirements call for a G4 or better (Intel included), Mac OS X v10.4.7 or later, 512MB RAM, 120MB hard disk space, 24-bit display with 64MB VRAM, Wacom tablet recommended.
