It’s been a busy week for virtual instrument drum-maker Toontrack Music. Earlier this week the company announced Toontrack Solo and Drumtracker, and now they are showing Superior Drummer 2.0 and the AES pro audio tradeshow in New York.

According to Toontrack, Superior Drummer 2.0 has been redesigned allowing for more effective use of sample layers. The interface will be familiar to users of EZdrummer, but the company added some high-end features to the mix.

Among the features are a new internal mixer that offers bussing and leakage control capabilities, and built-in FX from Sonalksis such as 5-band EQ, High and Low pass filter, Gate, Compression and Transient Designer.

The first release will include “The New York Studio Legacy Series” and will be available in the first quarter of 2008. Superior Drummer 2.0 will be available as an AU, VSTi and RTAS for PC and Mac (Intel and PPC). Pricing was not announced.
