IK Multimedia’s long awaited StompIO floor controller and audio interface will ship next month, the company said Friday at the AES pro audio tradeshow in New York. Guitarists will be able to use the device as they would a traditional stompbox.

With the StompIO you can control all current and future “Powered by AmpliTube” applications and plug-ins. IK is shipping five products that work with StompIO including AmpliTube 2, AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix, Ampeg SVX, AmpliTube Metal and AmpliTube 2 Live.

StompIO looks and feels like a stompbox, so there is no need to look at the computer screen when you step on a control. An LED display gives you a readout of exactly what preset you are using.

Pricing was not immediately available.
