Digidesign used the AES tradeshow in New York on Friday to announce Pro Tools 7.4. The new version adds several new music and post production features.
Among the new features in Pro Tools 7.4 is Elastic Time, which allows users to change the tempo and timing of loops, music, dialog, and other sound files in real-time without cutting up audio tracks. Users can also use Elastic Time to quantize audio to the session grid or extracted grooves, and fine-tune regions with control over each individual beat, according to the company.
Other features like Avid ISIS Streaming bring the integration between Avid and Pro Tools systems much tighter.
Pro Tools 7.4 will be available in late 2007 for Mac OS X Tiger. The company said support for Mac OS X Leopard would be announced at a later date.
