Keyspan on Tuesday introduced its Sync Cable for iPod. The $49 cable enables iPods to work with the entertainment systems of 12 different models of 2008 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury automobiles.

When the Sync Cable for iPod is connected, it enables iPod users to display their iPod’s content on the screen of the automobile’s sound system. It lets users control the iPod using the vehicle’s audio controls and charges the iPod’s battery as well.

The cable works with the iPod classic, iPod nano, iPod touch, iPod mini, and fourth- and fifth-generation iPods.
