GelaSkins has announced the release of custom covers for the iPod touch, iPod classic and third-generation iPod nano. The company’s covers are full-color appliques that protect the surfaces of the iPods with intricate designs created by modern and classic artists. Each one costs $14.95.
GelaSkins are manufactured from a 3M vinyl material, and they stick to the iPod using an adhesive that doesn’t leave any residue when it’s removed. The covers have a clear, scratch-resistant coating. Except for the iPod touch GelaSkins, the covers also include a clear “GelaScreen” display protector.
But what really sets GelaSkins apart is the artwork. Rather than going with plain colors or simple designs, GelaSkins uses full-color artwork from a wide variety of artists, from modern artists inspired by everything from traditional Japanese woodcuts and anime to MC Escher, Vincent Van Gogh, popular illustrator Ralph Steadman and street-inspired artwork.
