Steinberg has released an update for its pro-level music production software, Cubase. The update, which brings the current version to 4.1, adds several new features to the application.
Among the new features in Cubase 4.1 is a a redesigned Sample Editor, side chaining for VST3 plug-ins, MusicXML support and compatibility with Sequel project import. The update also adds Global Transpose Track that allows transposition of all audio and MIDI parts; an Arranger Track replaces the Play Order Track; and the Project Logical Editor is a new project-level editing system.
Cubase 4.1 is a free update for registered users and can be downloaded from the company’s Web site. For new users Cubase 4 costs $999.
