Virtual Programming on Thursday announced the release of Crusader Kings: Deus Vult, an expansion pack for their Macintosh conversion of the game Crusader Kings. It costs $19.95.
Crusader Kings is a turn-based strategy game that focuses on medieval Europe, circa 1066 to 1453 A.D. You must organize your feudal kingdom to become one of the great dynasties of the age, forging a mighty empire from a loose collection of confederacies and alliances.
Deus Vult expands (and requires) the original game with a graphical overhaul, and adds new inter-character relations to deepen gameplay. Issues like loyalty, inter-country relations, friends and rivals are now considered; your most loyal vassal can become your most bitter rival.
New gameplay attributes adjust the stability between realms, diplomacy options and character traits, and an all-new system that greatly affects the ability of child kings to run realms.
The interface is streamlined, with immediate alert icons, redesigned windows and a full ledger that provides more than a dozen detailed pages of what’s happening in your kingdom. other new events and changes have been added, including improvements to tools used by “modders” who create their own scenarios.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later, G3/500MHz or faster (including Intel), 256MB RAM.
