ATTO Technology has announced that Facilis Technology will use ATTO's Xtend SAN iSCSI Initiator, which will let Mac users connect to TerraBlock's iSCSI Server Module via Gigabit Ethernet.

Facilis manufactures storage systems designed to share media using Storage Area Network (SAN) technology. The company specializes in systems aimed at post-production and content creation workflows.

iSCSI is a fast data transfer protocol that enables users to access storage systems over TCP/IP-based networks using SCSI protocols. Facilis makes the Terrablock 3.0 storage system, which can store up to 24 terabytes (TB) of data in a 5U rack configuration.

ATTO's Xtend SAN iSCSI Initiator lets Mac users connect to iSCSI-capable network storage systems without complication the Mac OS X user experience; iSCSI is designed to support high-performance networked storage systems capable of delivering multiple streams of uncompressed video.
