NetGear on Friday announced the expansion of its ReadyNAS Network Attached Storage (NAS) hardware line with new models containing from 1.5 to 4 terabytes (TB) of storage capacity. The new Mac, Windows and Linux-compatible products are aimed at the Small to Medium Business (SMB) market, and are priced from $1,099.

New members of the ReadyNAS NV+ line include 1.5TB, 2TB, 3TB and 4TB models. They're all "desktop"-style storage systems with Gigabit Ethernet support and Jumbo Frames support, and can be configured to support RAID level 0, 1 and 5, along with Netgear's own "XRAID" automated expansion RAID technology.

Each system can be configured with up to four Serial ATA (SATA) hard disk drive mechanisms. They also include support for Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) AV multimedia access, HTTP/S remote access, FTP/S transfers, SSL and ACL security, and multiple USB ports.

The company has also rolled out the ReadyNAS 1100 4TB Dual Gigabit Rackmount Network Storage system, designed for a server room or server closet installation.
