Agile Web Solutions has announced the release of 1Password 2.5.8, a maintenance update to its password manager for Mac OS X. New to this release is support for Firefox 3 beta 2. A free update for registered users, 1Password costs $39.95.

1Password keeps track of passwords used on Web sites, automatically signs you in, and guards from identity theft. It lets you take your passwords with you on mobile devices including your Palm Treo and iPhone, lets you define multiple identities, syncs with .Mac, generates strong passwords and more.

In addition to Firefox 3 beta support, the new version also has improved filling of identity and Web forms and an extended password generator.

System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.4 or later. A trial version is available for download.
