Mark/Space has announced the release of The Missing Sync for Palm OS, version 6.0.2. A free update for registered 6.x users, The Missing Sync costs $39.95.

The Missing Sync for Palm OS provides Mac users with the ability to connect to Palm-based PDAs and Smartphones, including devices that don't ordinarily include Mac support. It replaces the "HotSync" software included with some Palm devices, offering features not available with Palmsource's software, such as Intel-native support, network synchronization support, the ability to sync all device-side contact fields, photos, calendar categories and more. It also works with Apple's Sync Services, providing a bridge between the mobile device and third-party software that makes use of this system-level technology.

New to the 6.0.2 release is improved functionality on systems running Mac OS X v10.5 "Leopard." A number of contact and calendar synchronization enhancements have been made, as well. The new Palm Centro device (a new low-cost mobile phone available to U.S. customers exclusively through Sprint) is also supported.

System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.4.9 or later and a device running Palm OS 4 or Palm OS 5, and USB, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection.
