Magma on Wednesday released ExpressBox 7, an external PCI Express expansion unit for desktop computers. The device, which allows users to attach up to seven PCI Express cards to a desktop through a x8 PCI Express slot, is compatible with most desktops and servers including Apple’s Mac Pro.

The ExpressBox7 features hot-swappable PCI Express slots with the standard package including a PCI Express host card, a one-meter cable, and a chassis with a 400-watt power supply.

The unit costs $2,799; a second configuration with redundant power sells for $3,599.
