NAMM, the largest North American music show held this time every year in Anaheim, brings vendors from all over the world to show their products. From software instruments and amplifiers to guitars and digital audio workstations, you are sure to find it at all this show. One other prevalent thing you’ll find at NAMM this year is Macs.

Macs have always been a huge part of music, but this year is like a showcase of Apple technology. It doesn’t matter what booth you wonder into, there is sure to be a Mac of some kind working away.

I went to a Yamaha press conference this morning and one of the gentlemen that knew me from my music articles said, “You’re in Mac country now.” And it was true—I had a look around the gigantic booth and it was all Macs.

And they didn’t have them hidden either—they were prominently displayed for all to see. They had iMacs and MacBook Pros everywhere. They even had a MacBook Pro loaded up with Vista running one of the demo movies in Windows Media. That was actually kind of amusing.

With such a big booth, Yamaha definitely showed off a lot of computers, but they weren’t the only ones by any stretch. Many, many other companies were showing demos of their products on the big screens using Mac OS X.

Live software demos and movie clips were all being shown on Macs of one kind or another. It was quite a nice moment to stand and look around such an enormous show and all the Apple technology.
