Casual photographers looking for simple-to-operate point-and-shoot models now have six new Nikon Coolpix cameras to choose from, ranging from the $139.95 L18 to the $299.95 S600. The company has introduced the new cameras in advance of this week's PMA trade show. All the new cameras will be introduced in March.

The L18 marks the low end of Nikon's new Coolpix models. It's an 8-megapixel camera with 3x Zoom-NIKKOR lens, anti-shake AE and 3.0-inch LCD display. It has an "Easy Auto Mode" and will come in either Navy or Ruby Red for $139.95.

The Coolpix S210, S520 and S550 are new members of Nikon's Style series of digital cameras. The S210 is an 8-megapixel model with 3x zoom, Electronic Vibration Reduction (VR) image stabilization, and aluminum body. It comes in plum, graphite black, cool blue and brushed bronze colors for $179.95.

The S520 is also 8 megapixels, and features a 3X zoom lens, Optical Vibration Reduction (VR) image stabilization and aluminum body. It adds a "Food Mode" to existing scene modes, enabling users to take close-up pictures of food at high ISO settings in restaurants or other low-light level areas. It will cost $229.95.

The S550 has a 10-megapixel sensor, 5x zoom lens and electronic VR. It also features Smile Mode, which automatically triggers the shutter when the subject smiles, and Blink Warning, which will display a warning message if the subject blinked. It'll be available in plum, cool blue and graphite black for $229.95.

Another new member of the Coolpix Style line, the S600 features a 10 megapixel sensor, 4x wide-angle 28-112mm Zoom-NIKKOR lens, optical Vibration Reduction (VR) image stabilization and a 2.7-inch LCD screen. It adds an "Active Child Mode" to its scene modes which will automatically track and focus on a moving subject as you shoot. It's SDHC compatible and uses a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery. The S600 will be released in March for $299.95.

The Coolpix P60 is aimed at consumers looking for some creative control. The P60 has Programmed Auto and Manual exposure modes, VR image stabilization, and an extended light sensitivity up to ISO 2000. It features 8.1 megapixels and a 5x Zoom-NIKKOR glass lens. An electronic viewfinder is used if you want the camera close to your eye. Look for it for $229.95.
