Macgamestore.com and Hidden Objects has announced the release of The Count of Monte Cristo, a new casual puzzle game for the Mac. It costs $19.95, and a downloadable demo is available.

The Count of Monte Cristo is a hidden object game based on the classic work of fiction by Alexandre Dumas, in which young captain Edmond Dantes has been wrongly imprisoned. Years later he escapes, and seeks revenge on those who wronged him.

The gameplay is a bit like the "I Spy" games and books, where each puzzle contains a montage of images, and you need to find a list of objects hidden within. There are more than 1,000 objects to find in more than 20 scenes and more than 15 puzzles.

The Count of Monte Cristo requires Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later and a G4 or better.
