We kicked off the last podcast by talking about how busy Apple had been. Well, the flurry of activity in Cupertino continues, and we address all of it in this edition of the Macworld Podcast.

Specifically, we look at Tuesday's laptop updates, in which Apple rolled out new versions of the MacBook and MacBook Pro. Macworld.com executive editor Philip Michaels and senior news editor Jonathan Seff discuss the changes introduced to Apple's portable offerings.

On Wednesday, Apple announced an event slated for next week in which it will discuss the future of the iPhone, including the status of the much-anticipated iPhone software development kit. Attentive readers will remember that Apple promised to deliver an SDK in February. Senior editor Rob Griffiths joins me to talk about all things iPhone.

Show Notes

In my look at the week's news, I mention that the iTunes Store is now the second largest music retailer in the U.S., trailing only Wal-Mart.

The MacBook and MacBook Pro discussion touches on Intel's new Penryn processors—you can read more about Penryn from this report of their introduction at January's Consumer Trade Show. You can also read Rob Griffiths' commentary on the unchanged laptop cases.

Speaking of Rob's blog posts, be sure to check out his state of the union for iPhone apps for more amplification of our iPhone discussion. And I'd be remiss if I didn't point you to iPhone Central for ongoing iPhone news and commentary.
