Virtual Instruments on Monday released an update for its professional digital DJ system, Traktor Scratch.

Among the changes in the new version, Traktor Scratch 1.2 enhaces the performance with optimized vinyl tracking, improved real-time looping and effect capabilities and extended iTunes integration.

Traktor Scratch’s looping capabilities have been improved with a manual loop function. This allows DJs to set loops in a track without beat grids. The effects section has also been upgraded in the new version taking cues from Traktor 3.

Finally, Tracktor Scratch now has the ability to directly access iTunes subfolders.

The update is a free download from the company’s Web site.
