Native Instruments (NI) released an update for Guitar Rig this week, which uses a new algorithm to model its guitar amplifiers.

According to NI, Guitar Rig 3.1’s new algorithm leads to significantly reduced noise floor for virtual amps and stomp box components with no increase in processor load. This allows you to use high-gain amps without a huge amount of background noise typically associated with their use.

The new version also allows users to handle multiple rack components at once, an optimized Live View with more customization options, enhanced Rig Kontrol integration and extended support for external foot pedals.

Guitar Rig 3.1 is a free update for registered users.
