JNSoftware has released Dialectic, a tool for Mac OS X that provides system-wide dialing of phone numbers. It costs $25.

Dialectic works with many Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones, Voice over IP (VoIP) services and landlines, and it integrates with contact management software including Daylite, Entourage, Now Contact, Palm Desktop, FileMaker Pro and other software. Dialectic also presents a global Address Book menu for accessing your contact data, and it sports AppleScript automation and extensibility.

If you’re already using telephony hardware and software on your Mac, Dialectic also supports Ovolab’s Phlink, Parliant PhoneValet, Cisco IP phones and other devices, including Vonage and many VoIP “softphones” such as Gizmo, Skype and WengoPhone.

System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.4 or later.
