Call Box, a training company for digital media professionals, has announced a new training DVD entitled “Sony EX1 Guidebook.” It costs $74.99 and ships on April 15, 2008.

Created by Noah Kadner, an Apple-certified Pro instructor, the DVD offers production and post-production training tip on the Sony PWM-EX1 XDCAM EX high definition camera. The $7800 EX1, as it’s known, is a tapeless HD camera that is used in broadcast and video production. It records 1920 x 1080 resolution without having to use pixel interpolation, and it’s paired to a 14x zoom lens.

The EX1 works with Apple’s Final Cut Pro software, and the Call Box training video includes topics like the SxS tapeless workflow, an overview of the XDCAM EX format, variable frame rates, controls and menus, 1080/24p versus 72024p, TLCS System Mod, data archiving, HD to SD DVD down-conversion, exporting to Apple Color, Film Out and more.
