Epson on Monday introduced the EX90 digital projector. The new $899 model is aimed at small businesses looking for a multimedia projector, and is Mac and PC-compatible.

Like Epson’s other projectors, the EX90 utilizes Epson’s 3-Chip LCD technology and features native 1024 x 768 pixel (XGA) resolution paired to a 1.2x power zoom lens. The projector weighs six pounds and includes a carrying case. Epson claims the projector’s lamp will last up to twice as long as other projector laps because of its “E-TORL” technology.

The EX90 projects at up to 2,600 lumens brightness and is HDTV-ready. It can connect to a component video source using an included VGA-to-component adapter and will display 720p and 1080i images. It also sports “instant on” capabilities, powering up in about five seconds. Likewise, it shuts down and is safe to unplug and pack up immediately. You can also temporarily turn off the sound and images using an “A/V Mute” slide function.
