Belgium's Mobistar doesn't waffle over iPhone 3G plans

I bet you thought we were done with carrier plan madness. Alas, that’s not hardly the case. We’ve still got two days left before the iPhone 3G launches, and a few carriers are still publicizing their deals.

Mobistar, which is mostly owned by Orange, will be offering the iPhone 3G for sale in Belgium, both to French-speaking and Dutch-speaking residents (looks like the little German-speaking region gets nichts). There are some peculiarities with Mobistar’s offerings, however, due to laws that prohibit bundling certain goods and services.

As a result, the Belgium phone will be available without a contract commitment—but that commitment-phobia comes at a steep price: €525 (US$821) for the 8GB and €615 (US$962) for the 16GB (both prices include VAT—without, they ring in at €433,88 (US$679) and €508,26 (US$795) respectively).

Mobistar is pimping three iPhone 3G plans, though they are clear that the plans are not tied to any device—they just suggest these plans are the best fit for the iPhone 3G. And keep in mind, because of the no-commitment deal, the prices of the iPhone models don’t change based on the plan—they’ll always come in at the prices listed above.

With our usual flair, we offer you the following chart for your convenience. And, of course, you can get the skinny direct from Mobistar's site, if you prefer.
