Posit Science has announced the release of Brain Fitness Program Classic for the Mac. It costs $395.

Brain Fitness Program Classic — developed by neuroscientists — uses techniques to improve your cognitive function, according to the developer. It was developed to help speed up your auditory processing, improve working memory and encourage your brain to produce more of the chemicals that help it remember. Six exercises are included in the software, and they adapt to your individual level, providing you with feedback about your progress.

Posit Science claims clinically proven results — the software has demonstrated auditory processing speed improvements of up to 131 percent, and improved memory as well.

System requirements call for Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later, 1GB hard disk space.
