Electric Rain has announced the release of Swift 3D, now with Universal binary support. A free upgrade for existing 5.0 users, the new Universal binary release of Swift 3D costs $249.

Swift 3D helps you create 3D vector graphics and animations for Adobe Flash, video, print and PaperVision 3D. Features include the ability to import and render transparent textures, orthographic views, mesh morphing animations, keyframe easing, per object fill rendering, and more.

The new release of Swift 3D 5.0 is a Universal binary, so it runs natively on Intel-based Macs. Electric Rain claims the new release increases vector and raster rendering speed by three-fold on Intel-based Macs. A new streamlined installer also performs an automatic install of the importer needed for Flash CS3 files.

Upgrades from Swift 3D version 4.5 and lower are also available, for a fee.
