Canto has released Cumulus 7.6, an update to its Digital Asset Management (DAM) software for Mac OS X.
Cumulus helps businesses manage digital assets. You can use it to organize, find and share files that your workgroups may need — photos, logos, presentation files, videos, Microsoft Office documents, Adobe files, Quark files and so on. It’s platform-independent and can also work via Web browsers for remote files access.
New features in Cumulus 7.6 include built-in rendering of PDF thumbnails. The PDF rendering works in all operating systems supported by Cumulus, including Web browsers, without the need for Adobe Reader or Acrobat to be installed.
PowerPoint handling has also been improved; users can create PowerPoint presentations from cataloged presentations, slides and images, with or without PowerPoint installed. The new release of Cumulus will package the new presentations into files that can be stored on thumb drives or other portable media.
System requirements call for Mac OS X 10.4 or later.
