Adobe on Wednesday began shipping Creative Suite 4 (CS4). Download versions are available immediately from Adobe's Web site, while boxed copies should be available in stores and shipping from Adobe to customers soon. First unveiled on September 23, CS4 is Adobe’s collection of professional graphics and media applications.

CS4 includes updated versions of InDesign, Photoshop Extended, Illustrator, Acrobat, Dreamweaver, Flash Professional, Fireworks, Contribute, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Soundbooth, OnLocation and Encore. The apps are also bundled into several collections, targeted to different segments of the market.

One of the biggest changes in CS4 is the user interface, which now uses tabs, so you can have multiple tabs open at the same time, but still be in one window.

You can read more about the changes in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash and Fireworks, and the company’s video tools, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Soundbooth.
