Maintain has announced the release of Cocktail 4.2 (Leopard Edition), a new release of their utility software for Mac OS X 10.5. A free update for registered users, Cocktail costs $14.95.

Cocktail is a general purpose utility application for Mac OS X. The software puts an easy-to-use graphical interface on many of the advanced UNIX functions built in to Mac OS X. Utilities are arranged into five categories: Disks, System Files, Network and Interface.

Cocktail 4.2 adds the ability to search for and delete corrupted preference files. A searchable database of Mac OS system error codes has been added, along with a list of commonly used network ports. The clear log files procedure has been improved, a number of minor bugs have been fixed, and some interface improvements have been made. Help files have been updated along with Automator actions.

A free trial version of Cocktail is available for download.
