MacPractice has announced the release of a major update to MacPractice EMR (Electronic Medical Records). MacPractice EMR costs $3500 plus $500 annually for support and updates.

MacPractice EMR helps doctor's practices manage patient records using Mac OS X. The company makes versions customized for medical doctors, dentists, chiropractors and optometrists.

New to this update is the ability to record patient visits with procedure codes and diagnoses for review by the biller. Narrative reports have also been enhanced; they can now be merged into a pre-defined location in a note template by clicking and dragging. This helps doctors generate a letter and envelope addressed to a referring doctor and associate that info with the patient's record.
