Adobe Systems has released an update to its Camera Raw plug-in for Photoshop. Available for free download from Adobe’s Web site, the new plug-in is version 5.2. Adobe has also updated its DNG Converter software to 5.2.

The plug-in, which enables Photoshop to directly ingest images from digital cameras that shoot in raw format, extends raw file support to seven new camera models: Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon PowerShot G10, Panasonic DMC-G1, Panasonic DMC-FX150, Panasonic DMC-FZ28, Panasonic DMC LX3 and Leica D-LUX 4.

Other enhancements include the Targeted Adjustment Tool for doing on-image refinements, and the ability to create a “snapshot” of all adjustments made to an image.

Adobe has also updated Camera Profiles within both Camera Raw and DNG Converter, which it bills as a “visual starting-point” for digital photographers working with a raw processing workflow.
