Unity Technologies has updated its Unity game development engine for the iPhone and iPod touch to version 1.0.1.

Unity — also developed to work on Mac OS X, Windows and game console platforms — enables developers to create 3D games using an integrated editor, optimized 3D graphics, asset importing, shader and physics support, audio and video, scripting capabilities and more.

The new 1.0.1 release for iPhone features increased performance, an improved Live Preview that lets you view and test your game inside the Unity Editor, and support for compressed audio playback using MP3/M4A files.
