A new depth of field tool highlights the changes to HSC Edit 1.6, a collection of plug-ins for Apple’s Aperture photo workflow app. The bundle from HumanSoftware provides 16 plug-ins for more than 4,000 effects to apply to images in Aperture.
One of those features is Depth of Field, which allows users to blur the background of an image. Usually an effect employed when the photo is taken, this feature allows the blurring of the background to be done on the computer using a virtual lens and brush.
Another new feature in Edit 1.6 enables canvas resizing, which the company likens to a Photoshop feature. Applying effects to multiple images as well as batch cropping and resizing enhance the speed at which photos can be processed.
You can learn more about each plug-in at the HumanSoftware Web site. The entire bundle costs $300, with separate modules available for $70 each. A Multi-Curves module costs $30, while an Image Enhancer module costs $50.
