Xerox on Monday announced two new low-cost color laser printers aimed at small and medium-sized businesses: The Phaser 6128MFP and Phaser 6280. They’re priced at $600 and $550 respectively.
Both printers are Mac, Windows and Linux-compatible, and feature 10/100BaseTX Ethernet network connectivity and a USB 2.0 port. Wireless connectivity is available as an option.
The Phaser 6280 is a single-function desktop printer that produces up to 26 ppm color print speeds (31 ppm black) and a first paper out time of 10 seconds. It can hold up to 950 sheets of paper and sports a front panel that displays a toner gauge. Features include Adobe PostScript3, Pantone-approved simulations, Xerox color correction technology and “600x600x4” dpi that can produce 16 shades of color per pixel. A 6280/DN model is also available with double-sided output.
