Maintain has announced the release of Cocktail 4.3 (Tiger Edition), an update to their general-purpose utility software for Mac OS X. A free update for registered users, Cocktail costs $15.

Cocktail provides access to a number of utilities and system management features that are built in to Mac OS X, but only accessible ordinarily through a command-line interface. You can use Cocktail to clean, repair and optimize your system.

Cocktail 4.3 (Tiger Edition) follows the Leopard Edition’s release. Like that version, this release adds the ability to clear potentially harmful files including most common “trojan horses” and worms. CrashReporter and HangReporter logs can also be cleared, and an issue has been corrected that could cause Cocktail to stop responding while performing scheduled clearing of caches. Compatibility issues have also been resolved with QuickTime 7.6.

Cocktail 4.3 (Tiger Edition) runs on Mac OS X 10.4 - 10.4.11.
