It’s been a busy day for Apple. In addition to releasing a new iPod shuffle and iTunes 8.1, Apple updated Front Row and Remote.

Front Row is Apple’s hierarchical menu system for navigating media on its computers. The interface gives users the ability to access music, TV shows and movies, all from one place.

According to notes provided by Apple, Front Row 2.1.7 “provides improved iTunes 8.1 compatibility.” No other information was available for the 13.3MB update.

Remote is an application built for the iPhone. It allows users to remotely access iTunes libraries, whether on a computer or an Apple TV. Remote 1.2 is also updated for iTunes 8.1, adding the ability for users to vote for songs in iTunes DJ.

Front Row 2.1.7 can be downloaded from Apple’s Web site and Remote can be downloaded from the App Store.
