MacPractice, the medical practice management software for Mac OS X, has been updated with support for ePrescribe service.

The service, which was developed in collaboration with NewCrop, is now available for MacPractice MD, DDS, DC and 20/20 version 3.6 packages. NewCrop Electronic Prescribing is a Web-based software system that enables doctors to electronically prescribe pharmaceuticals for their patients.

The interface between NewCrop's system and MacPractice eliminates the need for redundant data entry, and retains prescription history information in the patient's clinical record in MacPractice.

Additional content is available, such as automated allergy, drug information and review, herbals, managed care formularies, drug interactions, and leaflets for patient education (available in 18 languages, along with managed care connectivity.
