Aquafadas has announced the release of PulpMotion 2.2, their slideshow animation software for Mac OS X. A free update for registered users, PulpMotion is available in regular and Advanced versions for $49 and $129 respectively.

PulpMotion helps you create compelling slideshow animations using any collection of images or videos. You can add audio annotations, create “regions of interest” to create stories using your media, and more. The Advanced version offers an export function that lets you output your slideshow in a variety of video formats.

The new 2.2 release comes with four new themes — Photo Collage, Factory 2, Elastic and Blurred Frames. The new themes require Mac OS X 10.5 “Leopard” or later.

The update also fixes display bugs — particularly problems afflicting users of Mac OS X 10.4.x — and improves reliability and performance.

System requirements call for Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later, 1GHz G4 or faster, 512MB RAM, Quartz Extreme-compatible graphics card, and Internet connection for registration.
