Altec Lansing introduces Mix digital boombox

On Thursday, Altec Lansing introduced the Mix iMT800 digital boombox for iPhone and iPod.

The $300 Mix features a rack-style design and includes a built-in 5.25-inch subwoofer to go along with tweeters for high-end and custom drivers for mid-range sound. For tweaking the sound, there are multiple EQ modes, including a 7-band graphic equalizer, four EQ presets, and separate bass and treble controls.

The Mix also includes an LCD screen to display track, artist, and album information; a clip-on remote control for song and playlist navigation; a Universal dock for iPhones and iPods; dual auxiliary input jacks; and an antenna and four presets for digital FM radio.

Altec Lansing says that the Mix will run for up to 30 hours on eight D batteries—remaining battery life is displayed on the LCD—or you can use the included AC adapter.
