Contrary to its name, the Pacific Design iPod Pouch isn't really a pouch -- it's what most vendors call a slip case. Slip your iPod in and its sides and rear are protected while the top and front controls remain exposed and accessible. The iPod's screen is protected from scratches by a thin, clear layer of PVC. An included belt case attaches to the case via a nub on the back, and a small opening on the bottom allows you to connect the iPod's dock connector cable.

Although we love Pacific Design's iPod mini flip case, the iPod Pouch didn't impress us as much -- apart from its unique metallic fabric, the case is just like most other slip models, although thinner and a bit less sturdy in appearance. If you like the slip case style and want a "metallic" finish, it's worth a look; otherwise, check out some of our other reviews of cases for 3G iPods.--Dan Frakes
