We adore these fun cases from HotRomz. The fabric slipcase designs come in twelve different colors, and all are handmade by the artist Debbie Ann. Each case comes in a gift box with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist. If you'd like, HotRomz will add on a wrist or neck strap for an extra $3 or $4, respectively. Best of all, the wild colors and textured fabrics are surefire conversation starters.

But we aren't quite as sold on these HotRomz cases for full-sized iPods as we are on the ones designed for the iPod shuffle. You can still access the iPod shuffle's controls while it's in a HotRomz case, and since the shuffle doesn't have a display to begin with, there's no isssue with it being entirely covered Not so with the full sized version, which covers the clickwheel and bottom side connectors, requiring one to remove it from the case in order to do just about anything. Still, these cases are fun to look at and inevitably draw comments and inquiries from complete strangers. It doens't offer a lot of protection, and it takes away a lot of functionality from your iPod, but for a unique handmade case, these make a great accessory.--Mathew Honan
