The Core Case for iPod shuffle is made of anodized aluminum and is available in six colors. The metal is solid, but thin, and is covered on the inside by thin foam to protect your shuffle's shiny surfaces. Both the face and back controls of the shuffle are exposed by openings in the case. Unlike some other shuffle cases, you need to remove your shuffle from the case completely to sync and charge it; however, opening the case is relatively easy and requires no tools; you simply slide the cse open.

A lanyard and belt clip are included. The belt clip can be easily removed, but due to the case's design, pushing down on the case while it's clipped onto something will release it from the clip. Thankfully, significant pressure is required. On the other hand, attaching the lanyard is difficult. We had to use a pair of tweezers to pull the loop through a tiny opening in the case. Once on, the lanyard works quite well and even has a quick release mechanism that leaves just a tiny clip on the case.

The Core Case for iPod shuffle offers strong, lightweight protection. Minor design issues don't detract significantly from its overall usability.
