Power Support's Crystal Jacket for the iPod nano is a clear, hard-plastic case made of two pieces, front and back. These pieces snap together with your iPod in the middle, making a snug nano sandwich. A removable belt clip slides up and down the sides of the case and openings provide access to the Click Wheel, hold switch, dock-connector port, and headphone jack. Clear-plastic adhesive protectors for the iPod's rear, Click Wheel, and screen are also included.

Although it's easy enough to get the nano in and out of the case, I'm a bit skeptical about how well the Jacket's two plastic halves will hold together should the nano be dropped onto a hard surface. The plastic belt clip both helps and possibly exacerbates this flaw: The clip itself holds both parts together, but it slides up and down so easily, I worry about the case sliding right out of its grip.

However, the transparent nature of the case is perfect for showing off your nano, and the case itself doesn't add much in the way of bulk, especially if you forego the belt clip. As with most "clear plastic" iPod cases, you need to decide how much of a tradeoff between appearance and shock protection you're willing to make.
