iJacket's plastic iJacket for iPod video is available in a variety of artistic styles, including U2-iPod-replica, Matrix-inspired, camouflage, and even a speedometer. (At last count, there were 45 available designs.) The top is open for easy access to the hold switch and headphone port, and a small cutout at the bottom allows you to connect Apple's dock-connector cable. A removable belt clip is included; instead of using a latch, you rotate your iPod 90 degrees to remote the clip. You also get an adhesive screen protector that makes up for a lack of built-in screen protection; however, it's worth noting that dust and dirt can get trapped behind the protector fairly easily.

Unfortunately, because your iPod can rotate freely, it's possible for it to free itself. I managed to drop my iPod in the car without even realizing it until later. It's also at times difficult to control your iPod through the case's plastic material.

But the worst aspect of the iJacket -- and what earns it our 1-Play rating -- is that the case scratches the back of your iPod: We had a circular ring of scratching corresponding to the plastic of the belt clip nub. Although I likes its many available designs, this scratching issue forces me to recommend against the iJacket.--Derik DeLong
