If you're a soccer fan and an iPod nano owner, AVA's Lava World Cup for iPod nano may very well have you shouting "goooooooooooal!" Effectively identical to AVA's standard Lava skin (, the World Cup edition adds the flag of one of twelve different nations to the skin's Click Wheel covering.

Like its flagless brethren, the Lava World Cup is a concave-shaped iPod skin with openings for your iPod's screen, hold switch, dock connector, and headphone jack. The case is made of thick, dust-resistant silicone that feels smooth to the touch, and the concave shape fits comfortably in the hand. Also included are a magnetic cable grip for coiling your headphone cable and a clear, hard-acrylic screen protector.

I gave high marks to the standard Lava skin, and the World Cup version earns the same praise. Credit AVA, as well, for not charging a premium -- the World Cup model is the same price as the ordinary Lava, making this case a no-brainer for soccer fans. --Dan Moren
